It is sixty-one degrees on a Sunday morning after an unplanned break in my walking regime. The service department for my vehicle opens at 7 AM so it was auto maintenance for the Prius yesterday. On my last walk, starting early was a good effort and today will be even a bit earlier. The cool weather is stimulating to the idea of walking in the park.Once again, returning home from my walk in the park. Out at 6:35 and returning at 7:20, a five-minute drive each way and two miles walked at the lake. That makes my walk time about thirty-five minutes, not bad. Trying to build myself up, the idea from Rebecca haunts my mind. Adding small bursts of jogging into one's walking will build strength and endurance. In today's two laps, there were six periods of jogging. Three of about 50 paces and 3 of 100+ paces. The extra exertion is evident after slowing down. Breathing is heavier and self-determined, heartbeat is audible in my internal sound channels and the pressure of blood coursing through my veins is perceivable, when normally it is not even considered.
There were fewer folks out today, maybe a total of eleven. The lake is quiet and serene and even the birds are still resting and watching. I feel I am back on track after some scheduling noise. A meeting day on Thursday with no walk, 2 miles walk on course on Friday, a required task conflict on Saturday with no walk, and today, a 2-mile walk with jogging inserted appropriately. The plan is a sound one and I am up to the challenge.
