Acknowledging Life

Home again from my lake walk and its a beautiful day. Outside temperature is around 68 degrees and slight physical exertion feels great. The flood waters at the lake have totally receded and the grounds keepers have power washed the boardwalk's entire circumference. In counting my steps at a brisk pace, I determined that the walk is approximately 1850 of my strides. Today my circuit took right around 15 minutes. Many people jog or even run the boardwalk loop, some do several loops.

Its very peaceful at the lake with the sun not quite up and the moon still visible in a twilight blue sky. Today the moon was a small crescent appearing as an impish smile floating on high. The ducks were just rousing themselves from their nesting places and foraging at the water's edge. Turtles floated motionless at the water's surface with their small heads extended into the morning air. The three plus foot tall gray crane sat on a piling right next the the boardwalk as I passed and looked me directly in the eye. Its nice to be acknowledged and to acknowledge.
