Committing To Vitality

Looking for a pleasant activity to increase my energy level, I decided to take a walk around my local park. It is a beautiful park. A wide boardwalk loops around a small lake. The city parks department supports it and they do a wonderful job of maintaining and grooming the area. There are blooming plants throughout the year and an old natural oak grove shades the north side. The lake has fish, turtles, ducks, and of course, cranes. In addition, some species of water snails live in the lake, because there are a great number of amber colored empty 3 to 4-inch circumference shells on the shallower banks.

With the boardwalk encircling the lake, it makes walking the one-plus mile circuit easy and convenient. Right now however, with the hurricane season and heavy rains, some of the boardwalk is underwater. As the waters recede, they clean up the walk and the number of people enjoying the park increases. A friend got me thinking about walking the lake for exercise and it is lovely in the early morning. Perhaps we will find each other there some morning.
