Today, I understand, it will rain all day. Plants will show the benefits of the addition of water into their systems in just a few days. For people committed to walking, the rain means to take an umbrella and see how it goes. With my first step onto the park boardwalk, Ken appeared from the ridge with his umbrella and joined me. We talked, talked, learned more about each other's lives, and enjoyed the morning and the rain. There were fewer people out walking in the rain than on a non-rainy day.Starting earlier is good because I like the calmness and the dark. The down side is that taking pictures just doesn't work in the dark with a phone-camera. I have discovered no flash or light setting to compensate for darkness. Rotation of my walking times and taking enough pictures with light to cover for the days with no light will be my plan. There is always more than one solution to any challenge. This will work until something more is desired.
Yesterday I listened to a web seminar about time management. Bill Baren interviewed author Stewart Friedman. He talked about being a better leader and having a richer life. There were quite a few excellent concepts shared, particularly that of being a "great whole person." Many areas of life I continually work to improve. My commitment to walking every day is adding power to all of them. Each small step takes me further on my journey. Everything everywhere is getting better and better all the time.
