Appreciation

It was drizzling earlier and looked like the park might be un-doable. Upon arriving, the sky was overcast but the precipitation was light and an umbrella would protect the majority of my discomfort as long as change did not interfere. After accomplishing one quarter of the track, the decision was solidified to complete the course.

When tackling other bad habits or addictions the third day was the worst. Today is my third day in designing an exercise regime. A big pat on the back and an "atta' girl" for being out in the misty rain and taking responsibility for my decision. The walk is quite interesting in balmy weather or in the rain.

At the side of the lake where 'Big Al' the fish lives, many of the ducks were out cruising. After a conscientious scan for Al, it seemed he was elsewhere. Later, I saw an angler with a catch. Inquiring as to the species of fish, he informed me it was a Bass. It is hard to know if this is one of Al's family or just a neighbor.

A park grounds person passed on a motorized cart, perhaps diesel judging by the fumes that lingered after they had driven on. Arriving back to my starting point there was a nice spring in my step and appreciation in my heart. The creation of my new and more desirable behavior is underway.
