November Emerges Energetically

It is a brisk Monday morning in central Florida, 53 degrees and rumored to get cooler before the sunshine takes the temperatures up to the mid seventies. Yesterday the shifting weather brought out the most beautiful skies and unusual clouds. I was compelled to take several photographs.

Here in central Florida, the seasonal changes are much more subtle than in the forested foothills of the North. Across the region the most obvious change are the cypress trees. They turn from a nice evergreen looking furry appearance into a withered and dry brownish red. The dried fern-like leaves fall leaving tapered spindly trunks and naked boughs throughout winter's season. When I first witnessed this change, I thought it was an environmental catastrophe because no other trees were shedding their summer coverings. Now, I appreciate it as the cycle of the seasons.

The cooler temperatures make rising in the morning a bit more difficult but once that is accomplished the coolness adds an energy and zest to activities of the remainder of the day. Mondays always feel like the beginning of something worth making use of, another week in which to create, accomplish, explore and experience life. This week will be amazing!
