With A Little Help From My Friends

Forty-four degrees caused me to bring out the wool knee socks from the ski-gear bag. Yesterday I felt overdressed compared to the other walker joggers, but today the few of us out in the cold were dressed for it. The brisk air is invigorating and causes one to quicken the pace. I have currently adjusted my walking plan to Start - 7:00 a.m., Laps - one, until knee is recovered, Pace - walking at a comfortable rate with pauses for photographing interesting images, Frequency - daily, with the exception of Thursday.

My super-educated friend, Susan, came to my assistance yesterday. After reading about knee injuries and therapy, calling in an expert made sense. Susan is a massage therapist, sports trainer, psychologist and spiritual modalities trainer. She provided my knee Chinese reflexology, remote acupuncture, Tibetan bowl alignment and other alternative healing treatments. I must say, my knee is improved and my spirit feels happy, whole, and resonating with synchronicity. The world is full of wonderful things.

I learned some pressure points for my knee that I can work with to relieve discomfort. Being careful and gentle in my walking, turning and stair climbing are the result of my new knee awareness. After walking and using the muscles, a cold pack reduces any irritation. After thinking about my options, I have chosen smarter behaviors and to continue my walking exercise program. Knowledge is power and I am more empowered everyday.
